Dear Skyline Families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at Skyline Middle School! Today is a good day for a good day!
We are thrilled to begin another exciting year with our Jaguar Nation. Last year, we experienced tremendous growth in both English Language Arts and Math, along with a noticeable improvement in student behavior and building climate. These successes reflect the hard work of our students, staff, and families, and we look forward to building on this positive momentum.
We’re especially excited to welcome over a dozen new students from Marbrook Elementary into our growing Spanish Immersion Program. Our commitment to bilingual learning continues to flourish and thrive.
Skyline’s athletic program dominated the Red Clay School District last year, capturing championships in both Basketball and Cheerleading. We’re proud of our student-athletes and are working to expand opportunities in after-school athletics, clubs, and other enrichment activities to engage even more students.
Under the direction of Ms. Louden, our music program delivered two incredible performances last year, showcasing the talents of our student musicians. We're looking forward to even more great performances in the months ahead.
We also want to celebrate the revitalization of our parent support group, thanks to Ms. Stephanie Toomey, our SSA President. With the help of families and business partners, we’re building a positive learning environment filled with meaningful celebrations for both students and staff. We invite you to join us in this effort and help our school shine even brighter.
This summer, our administrative team collaborated closely with the Building Leadership Team to align our goals around instruction and student achievement. Our shared focus is clear: to help every student succeed.
This year’s theme is “Small Steps. Big Impact.” We believe that every small step our students take—academically, socially, and emotionally—will
lead to lasting, positive change in their lives and in our school community.
We are excited to welcome our new families to Skyline and are proud to continue our journey with returning students. Here's to another year of academic excellence, personal growth, and community pride.
Let’s make it a great year!
Warm regards,
Pete Metrinko
